Dear Thandiwe,
My name is Reyna, and today in school I learned of an English Essay Contest in which you can write a creative non-fiction story about any events. I wanted to do something special, so I did research on the internet about different people who helped change the world or who made a big impact, and I came across an article on you.
When I came across your blog I was very excited and hoped to get in contact with you if possible, I would love to hear your account of everything. I think you are an amazing inspiration to all kids, not only concerning school but also determination and leadership.
I hope I can get in touch with you, but if not, you're an inspiration to everyone.
Reyna T.

Hi Thandiwe,
I'm not sure if you're still updating this blog, but if you are checking in every now and again, I'd love to be able to get in touch with you. My email is siski [dot] green [at] gmail.com. I'd like to write a children's picture book based on your story.
Thanks, Franziska
Hi Thandiwe,

hello Thandiwe, my name is rebecca, in school we are doing memoirs about someone that helped change the world. i wanted to do something that no body else would think of, someone who deserved to be brought to the attention of others. i typed in people who have changed the world and a tab poped up as "7 children who have changed the world" and you were #1. i really beleive that your story is so much more worthy than a school project but it's a start for me. i'm really inspired by everything you have done and even if i can't do anything i'm glad that there arepeople like you who can. i know i'm only 13 people say, but you have accoplished so much more. you have shown me that it doesn't matter what your age is you can do anything.i don't know if everyone will fully appreciate the lenghts you went but i know i do and i thank you for adding your light to those that shine brightly(from the past, present and futer) and make a difference for those to come☺☺☺☻☻☻♥♥♥♥

Thandiwe,
My name is Rainah Umlauf, and I am a college student serving as a Project Coordinator for the Summer Institute for Human Rights and Genocide Studies of Buffalo, New York. I am writing about a project that we would like to create about student human rights defenders, including yourself.
The Summer Institute is a nationally-recognized 501c3 not-for-profit organization, which was designed to provide intensive human rights leadership training for its students. Founded in 2008, it has since trained over 250 area high school students on how they can be effective leaders, activists, and concerned citizens. You can learn more about our work by going to www.summerinstituteofbuffalo.org.
This year for our outreach program, we intend to have our students write a book on human rights defenders from around the world. Entitled “Our Time is Now: Portraits of Student Human Rights Defenders from Around the World”, the publication will feature profiles of roughly 35 activists like yourself. Its audience would be for middle school students around the country, all in the hope of inspiring them to take action. Any profits would be funneled back into the project.
Given your commitment and inspirational work, we would be honored to include your life as a chapter. If you are interested in granting your permission, we would be thrilled! We would also like to include 2-3 pictures of you and your work, and in order to abide by copyright laws need your permission. Please let me know if you would allow us to write about your incredible work.
Thank you so much for all you do and please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Rainah
